Abstract :
With the continuous growth of urbanization, pedestrians have given way to automobiles, diminishing the feasibility of pedestrian movement in many urban areas. On the other hand, revitalizing historical districts and prioritizing pedestrian infrastructure represent strategies for improving the current state and laying the groundwork for creating an appealing urban environment with social and cultural significance. Lalehzar Street has historically held a special place among the populace. This article seeks to elucidate the effects of revitalizing the identity and historical fabric of Lalehzar Street. However, commercial uses around, diverging from Lalehzar s past identity, have posed numerous issues leading to the gradual decline of the street. Efforts have thus been made to revive the street s historical identity and transform Lalehzar into a pedestrian-centric hub through reformative measures. Utilizing SWOT analysis and consulting urban planning and transportation experts, internal and external factors were evaluated, subsequently generating an IE matrix indicative of a conservative position. Accordingly, strategies pertinent to this approach were proposed. These findings offer important insights for scholars and decision-makers, providing a better understanding of the current state of knowledge of the revitalization of the historical context with a pedestrian orientation.
