Studying elderly theories and how to use them in designing dweling spaces of elders

Abstract :
The main duty of architects is designing spaces that answer its user’s needs and demands. Thus according to gender, age, behavior, expectation, and physiological and psychological needs, each space has its own traits. Therefore, designing a kindergarten, a house for a disabled, an official space and etc. differ from each other. Also designing for elders is no exception. The aim of this study is to realize the needs and demands of elders in their dwellings. This issue is done in descriptive analysis specially by studying social theories of elders. The result of content strategic instructions is for designing elders’ dwellings based on elderly theories that using them in designing nursing homes and elders’ villages can develop the life quality level of inhabitant elders.
