Abstract :
The Medusozoa are a subphylum of the phylum Cnidaria including about 3800 species in three classes: Hydrozoa, Cubozoa, and Scyphozoa (Daly et al., 2007). Cnidarians emanated early in the history of metazoan evolution as exhibited by fossil evidence (Ausich and Babcock, 1998; Cartwright et al., 2007; Chen et al., 2002; Hagadorn and Waggoner, 2000; Han et al., 2010) and molecular phylogenies (Dunn et al., 2008; Peterson et al., 2004, 2008). Medusozoans enclose a variety of forms, containing benthic and pelagic life- history phases with numerous species having both period within their life-cycle. they are recognized from their sister group, the Class Anthozoa (Bridge et al., 1995; Collins, 1998, 2003), by a medusoid body form in the life-cycle of some species and a linear mitochondrial genome (Bridge et al., 1992). Medusozoan distributed in temperate, subtropical and tropical waters (Chun-Lei et al., 2009). There has been restore to good condition benefit in these species because of emotional population vacillation, bloom making, and biological encroachment (reviewed in Mills, 2001; Purcell, 2005, 2007; Graham and Bayha, 2007), and also increased involve over envenomations affecting human health (Burnett, 2001). Ecologically, medusozoans are voracious predators of zooplankton and can have surprising effects on ecosystem.
