Abstract :
Abstract Background and Objectives: Enterococci are Gram-positive cocci that are found in abundance in the environment. The ability of bacterial in the long-term survival in the hospital environment, Odds patients to infection caused by the bacterial increase. Therefore, Identify possible deposits of infection is helpful in identifying sudden outbreak of infection. The resent study was designed to determine the Prevalence survey and antibiotic resistant in enterococci spp. isolated from delivery rooms of university hospital in Qom. Methods: this cross sectional study was conducted over a period of three month from delivery rooms of alzahra and izadi hospitals in Qom. Enterococci are separated through biochemical tests and then examined for Enterococci antibiogram profile of the bacterial was determined by disk-diffusion test according to CLSI standards. The data were described by frequency tables. Results: of 216 samples, 7( 3.2%) came out positive for enterococci. From 7 positive samples Based on the result of antimicrobial testing resistance had multiple resistance. Conclusion: nosocomial infection due to Enterococci is increased It seems to be necessary to use of infection control measures for eliminate sources of infection.
