Abstract :
Evaluation of seismic vulnerability of lifelines and specially water pipelines is essential for decision making regarding planning for reform and reconstructing of vulnerable components of the water transmission and distribution systems. This paper presents a method to assess the seismic vulnerability of water transmission lines in Tehran based on GIS data. According to this method at first dominant factors in seismic performance are introduced and then the impact type of each parameters has been studied. Based on the influence level of parameters, the weighting coefficients have been dedicated to features. Finally, using multi-criteria analysis in GIS, the vulnerability of water transmission lines and identifying vulnerable areas in Tehran is made possible.
