Investigating the effects of designing e-learning environments on the knowledge of commercial risk and financial risk in insurance companies

Abstract :
The study aimed to investigate the effects of designing e-learning environments on the knowledge of financial risk and commercial risk in insurance companies in the Kermanshah Province in 2012 . The research method used for this study was a quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test and experimental and control groups. The population of this study included all employees of the branches of Parsian insurance in Kermanshah province. Multi-stage cluster sampling method, considering the class was as the sampling unit, was used to select the sample. The sample size was 60 subjects that were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups of 30. Data collection was performed using a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by three experts in the field of risk management. Reliability was calculated using Cronbach s alpha coefficient (0.83). To analyze the data obtained in this study, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (T-test for two independent samples and analysis of variance) were used. Findings showed that using e-learning environment was effective on increasing understanding and awareness of financial and commercial risk of personnel who had been trained thorough e-learning environments as compared to those who had been trained traditionally. So we can say that the use of e-learning environments in the insurance industry leads to increase in personnel s awareness and understanding of insurance risks.
