Abstract :
Without a doubt, one of the important reasons for the failure to achieve the objectives of rural development is migration from villages to cities. Given the fact that the issue of villagers immigration from their residence has been per se one of the fastest growing problems in the recent year and has created major problems in agricultural production process. The present study seeks to examine the factors affecting the rural-urban migration. The statistical population of this research is the villages of Nir city, Iran. In order to operationalize our hypotheses and objectives of this research, 150 villagers were randomly selected as the sample of this study, and using an 18-item questionnaire the factors influencing immigration were asked from them. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software. The results showed that not only economic factors have been affective in this migration, but also have a significant impact on immigration in terms of social and cultural factors. By studying the hypotheses it was found that factors such as: employment, income, severity of work have been involved in the migration of rural residents
