Abstract :
The use of spiral and porous canals is a common method for increasing the heat transfer in internal single phase flows , that study of fluid flow and heat transfer in spiral canal has received more attention. This method is applied in heat exchangers, electronic cooling systems, internal cooling system of gas turbines and turbomachines .Enhancement of the contact surface to volume ratio can cause sudden increase of heat in porous ducts .Due to light weight, these ducts can be used in velocity organizations, and by monotonous distribution of flow, they prevent local temperature fluctuations and homogenize the temperature in surface. In this thesis, three-dimensional convection in a rectangular duct with porous barriers is investigated numerically .Navier-Stokes equations will be used In order to model the turbulent flow in porous medium ; and so will Darcy-Brinkmans model for simulation the flow through pores. For simulating the transmission of heat , one equation model is used . and in the end results of this model are analyzed and compared to practical work samples in references.
