Identification and Ranking of Critical Factors Influencing Industrial Safety (Case study: Electricity Distribution Company of Shiraz)

Abstract :
The current research aimed to identify and rank the critical factors affecting industrial safety in Electricity Distribution of Shiraz. The research method is descriptive-analytical and correlational. This study was conducted in two phases: qualitative and quantitative. After extracting four main factors (managerial, interpersonal, organizational-environmental and sociocultural) with 20 sub-factors affecting industrial safety of literature, through the survey questionnaire. The statistical society of the study comprised 140 employees of Shiraz Electricity Distribution which 103 chosen using Morgan and simple convenience sampling. The validity, content validity and Cronbach s alpha was used to assess the reliability of measurement instruments. Validity, 80/0 was confirmed. Data analysis has been done through descriptive and inferential statistics using structural equation modeling techniques through SPSS and LISREL software. The results of the tests showed any four managerial, interpersonal, organizational, environmental, and socio- cultural factors affecting industrial safety. Ranking Results showed that the most important ones are management and individual factors. Also the most effective factors sub, planning, safety and information management and technology. While the five last ranks (15-20) respectively refer to variables related to psychological work environment, physical environment, ergonomics, motivation, work equipment, communications and advertising. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to the aspects of managerial and individual (macro level) and factors planning, safety and information management and technology (micro level).
