Abstract :
Numerical modeling using finite element software LS-DYNA is carried out to assess the behavior of RC beams subjected to blast loading. Numerical results are validated against the results of laboratory experiments. Then, the intensity of explosion on the beam is investigated. Assessing the intensity of the explosion on the beam indicates that among different explosive loading conditions with the same maximum level of pressure applied to the beam, the loading condition with the higher duration time is much more critical from the viewpoints of displacement, crack growth and, failure mode.
