Abstract :
The Pollution of the environment is one of the most important problems that currently the world faces it. If we lose control of the exponential growth of this phenomenon, we will face a catastrophe for the environment. Fluoride is one of the environmental pollutants that although it is essential for dental health, at high concentrations it has toxic effects. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of Biochar as an adsorbent for fluoride removal from aqueous solutions, and the effects of pH, adsorbent dosage, inner concentration of fluoride and the absorption time of fluoride was evaluated using Biochar. The aim of this study was investigation the effect of produced biochar in different temperatures (300 and 600 oC) as a sorbent for remove of fluoride (F) from solutions. Biochar was produced from agricultural wastes of pistachio garden during of pyrolize process. Chemical parameters such as pH, adsorbent doses, and initial concentration of F- and adsorption time were studied to evaluate the F adsorption by biochars. The results shows the F removal coefficient was increased as pH, adsorption time and adsorption dose were increased. Maximum adsorption of F was in pH=7 and the adsorption time of 180 min.
