Abstract :
A sudden and unexpected event leading to major unrest amongst the individuals at the workplace is called as organization crisis. In other words, crisis is defined as any emergency situation which disturbs the employees as well as leads to instability in the organization. Crisis affects an individual, group, organization or society on the whole. Therefore, managing a crisis often presents a substantial challenge for an organization that may even threaten its survival. However, we argue that organizations can embrace such challenges to learn from crises. This article focuses particularly on (1) Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) , (2) evaluating projects and Net present value (NPV), (3) Crisis management theory , and (4) Crisis response communication management. Through examining how organizations learn from the process of crisis management, this paper provides guidance on how to deal with crisis effectively. In addition, this article provides an overview of crisis management in projects. Moreover, it outlines the main variables shaping response patterns, examining the main response patterns such as agenda management, centralization, decentralization, bureaucratic politics and strategic evasion, and exploring the difficulties in judging the ‘success’ or ‘failure’ of crisis management activities.
