Abstract :
In this article, a facile route was investigated to synthesize heteropolyacids (HPAs) immobilized on functionalized Halloysite nanotubes (F-HNTs). In this regard, firstly HNTs were functionalized with the appropriate amount of γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and then HPAs was immobilized on F-HNTs via wet impregnation method. The Modified sample was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). As shown, HPA was conjugated with F-HNTs through electrostatic interactions. This study demonstrates that surface chemistry of halloysite nanotubes can be readily modified and allow further hybridization for developing novel catalytic systems with potential applications in nanocomposites, enzyme immobilization and controlled release.
