Abstract :
Abstract-Pointillism which means dotting (Pointillisme is French), is one of the the post-impressionism painting styles in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. George Seurat developed this method in the year 1886 and extend it until another branch called pointillism emerged from impressionism. Other painters who follow this genre were Paul Signac and Henri-Edmond Cross. The word pointillism was first coined by the art critics at late 1880s for mocking the works of these artists, but today this word is used without mocking connotation. With combining this inspiring art with digital image processing techniques, we can present a pattern of image processing which can create pointillism painting art from the ordinary digital images. In this paper we analyze different aspects of the proposed parameters in the algorithm and investigate their influence on the aesthetics of the resulted image. In fact chasing the number of pallet color and also the size of the selected oval kernel and the extent of the radiuses of the oval are among the very important parameters in determining the beauty extent of the outcome painting from the proposed program, and at the end the disadvantages of the presented algorithm and future studies are addressed.
