Health issue in neighborhood level (case study: Motahary neighborhood)

Abstract :
Abstract Walking is considered as the most important part of physical activity and it causes improving health among society. Urban planning and designing can help us to have a better urban space which effects on walking. One the other hand we know that place attachment is important issue in neighborhood level and nowadays neighborhoods are well known as the base for start planning and designing. So studying relation between walking (amount of walking and reason of walking) and place attachment in neighborhood level is the most important goal of this article. To discover this relation we use questionnaire method. So 200 people who live in Motahary neighborhood were asked and result of this survey shows that , there is no relation between amount of walking and place attachment, however there is relation between arbitrary walking and place. This result shows that people in this neighborhood walking arbitrary (no compulsive factors force theme) more when they have more sense of place attachment than people with less sense of place attachment. As a result place attachment is an important factor in designing. Studying its factors can helps designer and planner in designing neighborhoods.
