Abstract :
The current research aimed to find out whether there is a relationship between Iranian EFL learners’ multiple intelligences (MI) and their oral English proficiency. To achieve the goal, the researcher has selected 62 male and female EFL students ranging from 18 to 33 from the Islamic Azad University of Arak as the subjects of the study. The researcher has applied a Quick language proficiency test (QPT), a questionnaire to measure the subjects multiple intelligences, and a speaking test to assess the oral performance. In order to find out the relationship between the variables, the data was analyzed by using Spearman correlation coefficient and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results demonstrated that although there is a significant relationship between some categories of multiple intelligences with Iranian EFL learners oral English proficiency, no correlation was observed between the total intelligences and oral proficiency.
