Abstract :
The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of assertiveness training on academic self-efficacy and assertiveness among female high school students in Ahvaz. The research sample consisted of 30 female students selected through random sampling and randomly assigned to experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. The instruments included the Academic Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (Owen & Froman, 1988) and the Gambrill and Ritchie Assertiveness Inventory (1975). The research employed an experimental pretest–posttest design with a control group. Before the intervention, both groups completed the questionnaires. The experimental group then received assertiveness training as the independent variable in 8 sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. After the training program, a posttest was administered to both groups. Data were analyzed using ANCOVA through SPSS software. The results indicated that assertiveness training significantly increased academic self-efficacy and assertiveness in the experimental group compared to the control group. The significance level was considered at α = 0.05.
