Abstract :
    Golfrang s motifs and design are ones of the useful design in the design and motifs of traditional art and rug s design. Roses flower or chicken flower s motif have been originated from the west-art and most researchers cosider this motif from EUropean motifs. Golrang design spread in to the art of Iran from safavieh period with European bowls and the Qajar period was the peak period of this current. This design from the beginning was entered in all areas of art fields such as painting and book layout, tilling and plaster- moulding. But art of carpet is the last field that has been affected by European, perhaps the reason for this is continuing of tradition in the field of design and carpet s tissue. Golfrang motif in the Qajar era was imported in the design of Kashan carpets. At first, it was used in a mixture with traditional motifs. In Pahlavi era,at first Golfrang took more diversity and nature-originated principles (naturalism) has been respected in its design. While in Isfahan on the second side of pahlavi and subsequent revolution have been used Golfrang motif in the carpet s design. In the field of carpet weaving, Kashan in Qajar era has been more influenced by the Eouropean art,so the effect of wild -mayby in Kashan is more than Isfahan. And that why Golfrang motif in Kashan was ahead of Isfahan carpets design The Golfrang s motif and design is one of the 19 designs in the design division in Iran. The aim of this research is investigating the design and motif of Golfrang in two cities of Kashan and Isfahan in adaptive manner and examminng their simmilarities and differences . The Golfrang design in Kashan is used more than Isfahan . There are many resources such as houses and monuments like Amery houses, Tabatabaee houses... which each of them packed with embroidery and various types of colorful flowers are emong the important reasons for the diversity of Golfrang in this city in Isfahan these sources are at least. One of the most important historical sources in Isfahan can be noted the Seyyed mosque which its design is on the top because of its Golfrang diversity.
