Abstract :
Introduction: Transcranial direct current stimulation (or transcranial direct current stimulation), or TDCS for short, is a non-invasive method of stimulating the brain in which electrical current is used to influence cortical activity. The main idea behind this method is that increasing or decreasing the activity of certain areas of the brain causes certain functions of the brain to be enhanced or suppressed. If this idea is true, it could open up new and exciting ways to treat a variety of ailments or even improve some cognitive functions, but what does current science really say about the potential of the TDCS method? In this study, you will learn about some of the diseases and problems that this method may have in improving them: The dorsal-lateral frontal cortex is often selected as a stimulating target in the brain. A wide range of cognitive functions that can be The stimulation of this area is adjusted, making it difficult to predict the effect of precise stimulation. Stimulation of the dorsal-lateral frontal cortex with electrical stimulation of the brain can be effective in correcting a wide range of cognitive activities. From a relatively simple, low-level activity such as the attention process to complex cognitive functions such as decision making and working memory, they can be affected by electrical stimulation of the brain. The effects of electrical stimulation of the brain are very diverse and depend on different stimulus parameters that sometimes lead to conflicting results. The aim of this study was to investigate and identify the results of cognitive domains due to the effect of electrical brain stimulation on the dorsal-lateral frontal cortex.
Conclusion: Numerous complex cognitive activities are performed in the dorsal-lateral frontal cortex. Stimulation of this region activates several cognitive functions simultaneously with electrical stimulation of the brain. This can facilitate and sometimes inhibit cognitive function, which in turn may reinforce some behavioral disorders. Further research is needed to improve our understanding of the neural mechanisms of electrical brain stimulation in cognitive functions modulated by the dorsal-lateral frontal cortex.
