Investigating the role of construction of urban train line 2 and protection ring in the sustainable development of Isfahan

Abstract :
    Currently, one of the main issues in the metropolis of Isfahan is the issue of transportation, which can cause many damages and problems such as environmental pollution, increasing the cost of living in the city and wasting citizens time. One of the most important issues addressed in sustainable urban development is the issue of efficient transportation and public transportation. The use of public transportation along with the expansion of infrastructure for the use of personal vehicles is a very good solution to solve and reduce traffic problems. Citizens use of public transportation and the use of urban protection rings in order to reduce urban traffic improves the quality and quantity of living conditions and environmental conditions and achieves sustainable urban development. Due to the traffic congestion in the inner city axes, it is necessary to build inner-city belts as well as around it. Therefore, due to the traffic of urban thoroughfares and lighted intersections, which wastes people s time, drivers use the belts. In this regard, Isfahan Municipality has taken an important step towards reducing waste of time, increasing physical and mental health, injuries caused by traffic accidents and reducing the depreciation of personal vehicles by constructing the 2nd metro line of the city train and the construction of the fourth protective ring of Isfahan city. It will be discussed in this article.
