Abstract :
With the growing population and the importance of sustainable development, the need for a sewage treatment plant system with less environmental burden and economic efficiency is felt more. The life cycle assessment method is one of the environmental assessment methods of products and services. Therefore, since the wastewater treatment plant has environmental effects, this study aims to identify and compare the environmental effects of the treatment plants in Khalkhal, Ardabil and Serain, using the life cycle impact assessment method and A corrective solution has been presented to reduce the severity of the effects. For this purpose, inputs (materials and energy) and outputs (related pollutants) of all three systems were identified and analyzed using Simapro software and Eco-indicator99 and BEES+ methods. The results showed that the aeration lagoon system had the maximum participation in all effect classes, and on the other hand, the activated sludge system had much less environmental effects than the aeration lagoon system. Also, in the SBR system, chlorine gas is the most effective factor in the treatment plant and has a large environmental burden. Therefore, as much as possible, it is recommended to use a gas that causes the least environmental damage while maintaining work efficiency.
