Abstract :
Since the amount of water used in the agricultural sector is important and significant, water saving and the use of non-conventional waters, such as sewage, are considered as a solution to solve the problem of water shortage. On the other hand, due to the plants need for nutrients and in order to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, wastewater is considered as a fertilizer source, so that the use of wastewater in irrigation as a source rich in nutrients It is very important for plants and can increase organic matter and improve soil fertility. Therefore, in order to investigate the performance of the experimental tomato plant in the form of a completely randomized design with four irrigation treatments including 100% wastewater (W100), 100% city water or control (T100), 75% wastewater and 25% city water (W75+T25) and 50% of wastewater and 50% of urban water (W50+T50) were implemented in three repetitions. The results of the variance analysis table showed that the effect of effluent on the number of stem branches, number of leaves, plant length, fresh and dry weight of shoot and dry weight of root was significant at 1% level and had no significant effect on other traits. The highest amount was related to the treatment of using 100% of sewage, which did not have a significant difference with the use of 75% of sewage and 25% of city water. The findings show that by using wastewater, due to the nutrients required by the plant, it is possible to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers with proper management in the studied area, but due to the accumulation of some heavy metals, necessary measures should be considered in continuous farming.
