Abstract :
Reinforcement of concrete structures using FRP composite and polymer adhesive faces problems from the point of view of fire of the structure. This technology is limited only to conditions that have a low risk of fire. Although cement adhesive material has better fire resistance compared to polymer adhesive, it faces problems such as brittleness at high temperature. This thesis proposes a hybrid system of CFRP-ECC in order to strengthen concrete structures. This composite system consists of CFRP mixture encased in ECC mortar. CFRP acts as the main load-bearing element, while ECC is considered as an adhesive layer to protect CFRP and transfer load between the concrete structure and CFRP. ECC has a brittle behavior in tension and improves its performance against fire without brittleness over normal cementitious materials. In this research, modeling has been done using Abaqus software. The results showed that the effective bond length of CFRP in ECC was more than 170 mm. When the CFRP-ECC mixture was used to strengthen the concrete beam, as a result, the bending behavior of the concrete beam was improved.
