Abstract :
Abstract Architecture, art and the technique of designing and constructing buildings, urban areas and other inner and outer areas are for the purpose of responding harmoniously to the functional and aesthetic demands. Architecture should be differentiated from civil engineering. One of the basic studies of the world today in parallel with the designs focused on common architectural urban projects is the necessity of paying attention to a human-based environmental improvement in regard to the connected design. Urban comprehensive designs as the most important management tool at the level of urban areas and neighborhoods have encountered difficulties for several decades after their appearance that have made it less likely to achieve their objectives. One of the other factors in the failure of urban comprehensive designs is the lack of attention to providing environmental spaces in spite of a huge demand for it that should be satisfied because of the leisure time of youngsters, children and the elderly to be spent in those spaces. Today, green space is considered to be one the main factors in the sustainable development of qualitative space creation in the limit of designed buildings and is a criterion for the recognition of a healthy city. From the viewpoint of architecture planning and urban designing as well as the architects who are expert in landscape, the development of green space in landscape is broader than just vegetation and includes the improvement of natural environment surrounding the project. Along with the above-mentioned cases, this research has been compiled with the aim of space creation for reading books in the design of “Book City” in western Tehran. Two methods have been used for collecting information in this project: field-descriptive and library methods. In theoretical method (library researches), the necessary information was collected by referring to the available Persian and English sources (different kinds of journals, theses and related books) and the important websites related to it. Descriptive method includes direct observation and indirect observation and the results show that there is a positive correlation between liveliness and the components of creating image in citizens and environmental quality with the invitation to the designed building. In addition to the presence of plants, fountains and the appropriate lighting for days and nights, the safety of pedestrians against vehicles in the edges design of a site which is on the corner of an intersection with a heavy traffic; other factors are also very effective such as different land uses in the central yard of a design and the accessibility to the assembling and attractive elements for creating a pleasant and safe situation as well as psychological features like creating the feeling of calm and tranquility which is needed for reading books. This means that the research hypothesis called “urban green spaces, improving reading books” is confirmed. It’s evident that using a gentle slope for the site is helpful in designing the landscape proportional to the construction
