Abstract :
The present study sought answers related to the frequency distribution of paranoia and schizophrenia metaphors in two Persian psychology books that are rich of conceptual metaphors, especially paranoia and schizophrenia metaphors. In so doing, the well-known Persian psychology books of “Paranoia” and “Diagnosis of Schizophrenia” were considered for analysis. To validate the results of the corpora, 300 patients aged 19-48 were requested by the psychologists to take part anonymously in this study through completing Conceptual Metaphor Completion Tests. Results indicated that only 19 and 16 paranoia and schizophrenia primary conceptual metaphors found in the chosen corpora respectively. Likewise, 25 and 21 basic paranoia and schizophrenia metaphors were detected from the Conceptual Metaphor Completion Tests orderly. Finally, the findings showed that Iranian people just have negative attitudes towards the concepts of paranoia and schizophrenia in their ordinary life
