Abstract :
Transgenic crops have been the subject of much debate since entering the market. Causes such as allergy and toxicity are such risks that may threaten human health caused by genetically modified products. Meanwhile, there is an increasing concern about allergies, in which the produced proteins play a role in their creation. These proteins are produced by transfer gene expression in the target plant. The toxicity of transgenic products was addressed in a few studies. In Europe and the US, there are organized rules for assessing these products and authorizing them to enter the consumer market. These regulations are much more stringent in Europe, while the sub-cultivation level of these products is lower in Europe in comparison with the US, revealing Europeans low tendency to consume transgenic products. The media are the leading causes of the negative atmosphere against transgenic products, and also one of the primary reasons for the reluctance to consume these products. However, in contrast, scientific investigations carried out by researchers have indicated that the consumption of transgenic products in the short term would not pose a particular risk to human health. However, the long-term effects of consuming these products are vague and require further study.
