Computational investigation of miR-542, miR-503, and miR-424 role as a tumor suppressor and probable novel treatment for ovarian cancer

Abstract :
Ovarian cancer as breast cancer is one of the most developed cancers in females, that every year diagnosed millions of women worldwide. Based on recent studies a wide range of female’s are not diagnosed until the cancer has reached the advanced range, as patients with ovarian cancer have no particular symptoms. Based on recent studies and the abundance of this cancer we decided to do a wide range of bioinformatic analyzes on ovarian cancer by using miRbase, miRCancer, miRWalk, miRTarBase, DAVID and GEPIA 2 databases to get required miRNAs and pathways, gene expression amount and important genes which play essential role in ovarian cancer. Then by Cytoscape tool the interactions between the gained genes in the pathways were analyzed. According to the analyzes it has been detected that hsa-miR-542-5p, hsa-miR-503-5p, and hsa-miR-424-5p has vital role in three signaling pathway include Pathway in cancer, Ras signaling pathway and JAK-STAT signaling pathway by targeting EGFR, PIK3R1 and PDGFRA which are ovarian cancer related genes. Finally the results demonstrated that hsa-miR-542-5p, hsa-miR-503-5p, and hsa-miR-424-5p have preventing role in cell proliferation, cell migration, cell survival, cell growth and tumor formation by inhibiting the cancer related gnens. The results of this study revealed the probable role of this microRNAs in prognosis and treatment of ovarian cancer. We hope that our findings will provide an efficient treatment for ovarian cancer patients.
