A Review for Data Challenges in Cloud Computing

Abstract :
Recently, cloud computing has become the jargon in computing. It is a way for the clients to increase capacity or add capabilities without heavily investing in infrastructure or licensing software. However, this evolution and ease of use exposed the new IT based technology into a number of data integrity and security issues. Data integrity in cloud storage is one of the most critical issues of cloud users. Assurance of data integrity means that the data stored on the cloud is only altered by authorized users. Clients cannot physically access data from the cloud servers directly without provider’s knowledge. Cloud Service Provider (CSP) can alter or delete data which is either unused by client for a long a time and/or takes large memory space. Hence, there is a need of reconciliation of data periodically for its integrity purpose. To overcome data integrity challenges, many techniques were proposed in the literature for various systems. This paper discusses the challenges of data integrity in the cloud-computing environment.
