The Importance of Forest Park Design to Improve Physical and Mental Health

Abstract :
Forest Park is a community open space and a primary green infrastructure resource. Today, Forest Park provides the community with access to nature, gathering places, and public space. Studies have shown that contact with nature plays a crucial role in the amelioration of human health. Forest therapy has recently received widespread attention as a novel and subsidiary treatment approach for stress recovery and health promotion. The aim of this article is to the importance of forest park design to improve physical and mental health. Being in a forest environment has a positive effect on the human emotional state. It contributes to recovering from stress-related exhaustion. People feel more balanced and in a better mood after regularly visiting Forest Parks. Besides, it facilitates social interactions and promotes a sense of community among the citizens, which is very important for the health and well-being of people. Finally, in addition to contributing to air quality and helping to ease temperatures in the summer, forest parks have positive effects on physical, mental, and social health as well as individual well-being.
