Abstract :
After the 21st century, the growth of technology in the rail transport sector has gained momentum. In intercity transportation, the quality of transportation systems is evaluated according to the competitiveness of power each one with other systems. This power is important due to the advantages of rail transport, which include: low energy consumption, good speed, safety and less pollution along with more capacity in passenger transport, especially freight transport. In this study, for rapid transit systems with suburban trains, a mixed integer linear programming model (MILP) is proposed to integrate the rolling stock circulation of passenger roundabouts and determine the maintenance station with a hard time window. The purpose of this study is to reduce the total costs of using railways, including depreciation, average maintenance, passenger transportation and train maintenance costs. GAMS software has been used to solve the developed mathematical model of the problem. In order to provide management perspectives, sensitivity analysis has been performed on important parameters. Finally, the developed model was used for a case study in the rapid transit systems of suburban railways in Tehran and the results show that the developed mathematical model has the necessary efficiency for this problem.
