Abstract :
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of teaching the components of choice theory on academic neglect and moral development in students. Method: In this study, 30 middle tenth grade students were selected through convenient sampling from high school in District 2 of Yazd. These numbers were then divided into two groups of 15 experimental and control groups. The first group was selected for eight sessions of theoretical component training, while the second group received no training. Both groups completed research questionnaires before and after training. Data were collected using the Solomon and Ruth Bloom Academic Neglect Questionnaire (1984) and Dr. Lotfabadi et al. (2011). Data were analyzed using covariance test and spss25 software. Results: The results of analysis of covariance showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of academic neglect and moral development. In other words, teaching the theory of choice in the experimental group reduced academic laxity and improved moral growth (P <0.05).
