Abstract :
ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to provide an exploratory overview of activities that can be used to improve translation fluency of the students majoring in translation studies or related fields. Assuming that students encounter difficulties in translating SL into TL or vice versa, the present research aims to present a range of strategies that students can successfully employ to produce native-like expressions and sentences while translating. The relevance of the current study lies primarily in its pedagogical implications. The selection of strategies has been based on a review of the current literature into the teaching of phraseology as well as the author’s own experience. One of the main findings is that though many strategies have been suggested for the translation, only a small minority has been used by students and much more emphasize should be paid on these strategies by teachers and curriculum developers.
