The impact of Asian culture on color choice in digital user interface design

Abstract :
Color is one of the most important visual components in user interface design, which in addition to creating visual appeal, also affects user perception, trust, and interaction. However, differences in cultural values, beliefs, and symbols cause users to perceive colors differently in different societies. Ignoring these differences can reduce the effectiveness and acceptability of user interfaces in international markets. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of Asian culture on the selection and use of color in user interface design and to explain the role of cultural factors in design decisions. The present study was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method and the data were collected through a study of library resources and analysis of examples of user interfaces of digital applications used in Asian countries. Then, the cultural meanings of colors and their application in user interface design were examined with an adaptive approach. The results of the study show that the choice of color in user interface design is not based solely on aesthetic principles, but is significantly influenced by cultural contexts. Therefore, paying attention to the symbology and color preferences of users in Asian cultures can lead to the design of more appropriate user interfaces, increasing user satisfaction and improving the quality of human-computer interaction in digital products.
